Hotaru and Mikey

October 28, 2009

I met Hotaru at the dedication ceremony of the Knoxville MEPS ceremony room. Her husband Sgt Michael H Ferschke Jr was killed in action before Mikey was born. For those that have met me, and know me, know that words are not my strong suit. I never can say the right thing, or the most comforting thing. The Ferschke family’s ordeal has really touched me and I wanted to be able to do something for them. I was thrilled when Hotaru was interested in having photos with baby Mikey done :) We had a great time and he is a sweet baby. I hope they enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them! To read more about the Ferschke’s family and what they are going through right now visit MSNBC’s link Makes you wonder about laws and common sense sometimes.

Oh, as a funny aside, I didn’t realize Wade, as in Wade Payne my studio mate was the photographer for Hota and family on that MSNBC link! ha!

Alyssa and Zack

What a great aunt they have to bring them in for photos! This is a secret session for their Mom, so, if you know them, don’t tell Mom! I love working with kids, both little and teens :) I guess it is the Mom in me

The Reeds

February 15, 2009

It is always wonderful to have a mother and daughter who are obviously very close come to see me. I love to capture relationships. No matter who the relationship is with. A parent, a child, a pet, they are all so beautiful to see. We had a great time doing these photos an both Jessica and Melody were so kind as to not mind the last minute touches we were putting up as they came in :)

Here are some wonderful photos of them. The video has them all, just a few of my favorite below :)

Men and their dogs…

January 10, 2009

There is a reason the saying “Man’s best friend” has been said through the ages. There is nothing on this earth that gives love as unconditionally, or as easily as a dog. No matter where you are, what you are doing, what is going on with your life, your dog is there for you. I hope everyone can see the bond in these photos. I sure can!

Enjoy this animoto of the family. :)

Merry Christmas!!!

December 24, 2008

I wanted to wish everyone a VERY Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and prosperous New Year! It has been a great 2008 at our home, crazy, busy, but truly wonderful. Thank you to every single person who has supported me over the last few years. I appreciate you entrusting me to craft your portraits. I know how important memories can be. I promise to continue to evolve my craft and bring something new and fresh all the time.

A few things to share with everyone. An animoto Christmas greeting from my family and very very last minute portraits I did yesterday afternoon. Two different families.
